Thanks everyone.
Personally I was never a fan of the look either. I know some like the industrial look and being able to adjust the tension.
Being old school I have no problem tapping a pin if and when needed. It has worked for a century +. And to my eye they appear "clunky" . Though I used the orig.scales as the pattern they appear a bit more elegant.
It could just be me.
But as pixelfixed said, Ivory isn't as delicate as many seem to think. It's tough stuff even when so thin.Last edited by mycarver; 08-24-2014 at 06:49 PM.

I have a Hart. Put me down in the camp that really likes its utilitarian or industrial look. Or as I think of it, a functional well made tool. And they shave wonderfully...
Okay, all that said? You just elevated this razor to the level of fine art. I mean it is absolutely beautiful. Nice work!
Best,
Ed
PS I also find a Miller TIG welder attractive too :-). Different strokes for different folks...Last edited by EdHutton; 08-24-2014 at 07:07 PM.
I routinely badger myself and the shaves are improving!

I too like the somewhat spartan look of the Hart razors but you have improved on it greatly, giving it a classic elegance that the original maker probably never envisioned or could execute.
Than ≠ Then
Shave like a BOSS
