Once again...Thank you one and all! After reading all the positive comments posted. I do believe I just might keep this razor...
Seriously...If you ever get a chance (RAD IS NOT A BAD THING!) of shaving with these tapered blades I think you'll understand why I like them so much. They are made for a scything stroke, which for the way my beard grows, really allows me to get to the difficult area on my face along the jawline where the hair grows sideways and toward my ear.
My collection is growing ( I'm even catching up to Zak's tapered blade collection!), this is my second W & B, and I am currently working on 3 more of these blades, a Marshes and Shepherd, an Ashton & Jackson, and a really pristine Joseph Elliot. I'll be sure to post pics of these when they are done.
Thanks!

They're really nice to shave with!
Not super-fun to hone, but not really much worse than any other razor with hand-made geometry.
The tapers in the other direction are really nice too.
Now to see if I can put my awesome powers of persuasion to use on something a bit bigger... Like keeping original scales.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

I only have ten or twelve of them!
Seriously though, one weekend I'll have to bring all mine up to 10Pups place so we can get pictures comparing all of them.
It's interesting to see so many different versions of the same basic design, and I suspect it might be possible to just barely start to see individual Little M'ester styles at play (and thus see which guys worked for which companies).-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

Thanked: 101I have a W&B 6/8" half hollow with a similar shaped spine with a barbers notch.
Mine is not tapered like yours & was made after 1881. on the presentation side in very light etching it reads " Hollow Ground Razor" The Wade & Butcher, Sheffield England is also very lightly etched. I will have pics after&I get it restored & honed up.

....You just made my day Andrew! Although I haven't been posting much of late...I do miss you.
BTW...I have been working on a whole bunch of razors lately...Mostly Americans...BUT I have a lot of Sheffield's done that will knock your socks off. One is a another 11/8 (HINT: with an Anchor) wrapped in some BONE scales that a friend once sent me...Lupus Cohors - Appellant Mors !
