I can't bring myself to just 'swish' the hone or holder in some water and have another go with a higher grit stone.

I 'think' that this helps with my edges, I just can't document it.
I was like this. Now I don't care anymore after enough times honing a newly ground razor

I set the bevel on a 1K with slurry, then switch to a 4K with slurry, and then I flip from 4K without slurry to 8K (it's a norton) and finish on just the 8K.
I don't rinse my DMT between the 1K and the 4K, and the puddle of water that the stone is lying in has alternately the 4K and 8K lying in it. In my experience, it doesn't matter one iota in terms of shaving with it

Tbh I don't even use my finishers anymore. Too much hassle for virtually no gain.

Awww now you spoiled it. The pivot won't get loose all the time .

Way to go G. Much more like a razor than a knife.

Ahhhhhh you caught it, figures that you would Oz, I also adjusted the angle of the wedge to match the angle of the tang, the action became much smoother and it should reduce the pressure on the pivot too

Yip yip. See the angle on the last pic. They just about warrant 3pins otherwise.
