Well, here ya go, Harold! They were not too bad, just a bit of CA and some elbow grease. Funny, I had unpinned the blade a good while back and before I unpinned the bottom, I went out to the buffer to clean up the bottom collars a bit as they were really crusty.
I soon realized the collars were not brass. Nor was the pin. I thought steel, but a magnet did not faze them. Silver!
I have not seen silver collars on an FBU Wade and Butcher before. Now I have! Did not go too shiny with them as I wanted it to look authentic. Blew off the pivot bushing and blade spacers too. Pinned it up as it was made!

2 layers and a few swipes on the DMT revealed a teeny bevel, so with 1 layer I proceeded with all natural stones off the 1k. Honed up super nice. Smooth old shaver, for certain!

Mike did a great job to smooth it out and kept the weight and the dimensions true!

Really nice Tom...scales look just right and I Love the NiAg washers and pins. This blade is really a classic Tom, and it was a lot of fun working on this project with you. We'll have to do it again someday!

My gratitude, Mike. It was hard to talk you into doing this, I know. A fine man, you are doing razors for the reward of love.
I pretty much do the same. The labor of a man who loves what he does may not be perfect, but shall stand out, regardless.
Your work on the blade respecting it, made a theme for the scales. I could have sanded and polished them til they were mirrors.
Instead, (I hope!) I found a way to see the grain in the horn and make the scales fit the natural look of the blade.
I totally dig it! Thanks for the help!

    Regards,
    Tom

    Two-tone touch is very nice.
    Makes this blade outstanding.

It looks awesome! I just don't like full mirror finishes on blades of that era, I'm more of a 600 grit satin finish guy.
