I realize I'm a little late in recognizing your fine work...member since 2009 but for some reason I stopped signing on for a few years, so I'm catching up. I believe this is the second restoration of yours I've admired in the same number of days...again, beautiful work! I like to work with my hands, (woodworker, carving, fly-tying, a little leatherwork, etc.), but have never tried restoration. I would imagine there is a lot of satisfaction in taking something of quality that had been neglected and bringing it back to it's original condition within the limits of wear/damage and in this case, perhaps better than it's original condition, a fine mirror finish which according to the photos, I cannot imagine would have been better when new...a lot of very good (of character) and talent people here...glad I tuned back in. Thank you for sharing.

Very kind words HardBlues! Your right about the satisfaction...every razor I complete is different in one way or the other but the satisfaction I get from looking at a 150 year old+ razor brought back up to snuff is gratifying indeed.

    Welcome back to SRP!
