Frameback damascus, in Blacklip Mother of Pearl
Hi Guys, been a while since I've finished a new razor. Changed jobs earlier this year, and been rather busy since.
So, Id like to show my latest. It's a true frameback. Blade is "Fossil" damascus, consisting of 1084, 15N20, some nickel and 1095 powder.
Frame is fileworked, and jimped 52100, hardened so as to wear evenly with the blade.
For the scales frame, I used titanium. The tiles of AAA grade Black Lip Pearl, are epoxied, and pinned with nickel/silver pins. I also used titanium for the wedge, and file worked it as well.
I started this 6 months ago, and picked at it off and on till today, when I received the washers to pin it. Man, I was so paranoid pinning this thing, worried I would crack the pearl! Im glad it stayed together!
Any way, here it is, thanks for looking, and comments welcomed! Ignore the water drops, it started to rain when I was taking photos.
I have photos of this at its various stages, to do a WIP. Let me know if your interested.
Pierre
