I have no complaints about the back ground, and, don't break the tip! 90* all the way out to the tow is desirable in my opinion, and you should learn to love it!

Amazing job for a first resto. Scales have great shape and polish. The pins are centered even and well spaced, the spacer is flush. and so on. Great work. My only criticism is that I think the blade could go a step further in polish. HF sells a green compound stick that has worked well for me.

Also, what LZ6 said about the heel being close to the bottom gap is painfully true. If you feel the need to correct this, and since you can't add material to the scales, you could narrow the spacer to make the blade sit a little higher.
