That is a very nice job of work! I have a John Jay almost NOS and it had the pearl tang but had black beveled edge flat bakelite or hard rubber scales.
Thank you, as always, for a great "how to" posting!

That's a very elegant looking turn around Tom. You should be very proud of the final result as well as your design ideas.
    Very innovative, as usual.
    Cheers...

Fantastic job Tom! Great observations on the way the adhesives interact, as we'll as terrific 'along the way' shots a guy like me really appreciates. Will help some of my own ideas immensely.
Personally love the way the notch in the spine intersects with the pearl in the scales. The original builder couldn't have done better, IMO.
As always, a razor to be proud to use!
    Cheers.

    Thanks Mike!
I had a bit of leeway in moving the pearl bits before I adhered them. One thing I did was to mock everything up many times, with microfasteners. I figured out which way the pearl pieces lined up with the tang/stabilizers. It took a bit of time to figure out which direction, which piece. I estimate this razor was bolted up and unbolted 27 times, conservatively. Keep in mind the 2 liners, pearl bits, and Bakelite panels, parts came from 7 different razors!
