    seems like dyed horn no idea why the smell would be so off from the usual though

    It's old & natural & it's being "heated' (sanded) that's why it stinks.

    all horn does, i took it as this was "weird" smelling in comparison to the norm, maybe i misread

    I never had horn with an inclusion like this in it. It looks like a fold.
