    Thanks Tom and Shawn. Seems like a consensus that these are great Shavers, and IMO it's moved near the top of my 'want list'. I have 3 other Henckels...one of which is a 13/16th #74 and they are all great shavers, BUT this #14 is something else!

    Good Luck with your #14 Tom!

    Yeah, I got so bummed discovering a crack in the first one I attempted, I have not had the heart to attempt the second yet.
    Looking at this one, I should send it to you to tackle for me!

    Your like the old Billboard Charts Mike, the hits just keep on coming and your number #1 with a bullet, awesome work as always, looks brand new.

    How old would this razor be?

    Mr Mike, fantastic save on the skins. And the blade restored beautifully as well but those scales,, really nice work. Lead impregnated leather wheel in the polishing process? Interesting idea. What kind of wheel? sisal, home made or?
    Makes me want a Henckel now in the rotation..

    Yup, gorgeous. I especially like the restore on the scales, gives me hope for a boker I just got, same baby poo color. Was it just a bit of sanding and buffing?

    Naw...You can do it Tom. You're just a little gun-shy is all.

    Well...you'll see it soon Andrew! It is a stellar shaver and you're gonna really love the way it shaves...'spike point' and all!

    Thanks! It's actually getting boxed up heading to Andrew tomorrow...and, I'm now on the hunt for a 14 myself.

    Thanks Mike! It's actually a hard piece of leather like an old leather mallet. I've been playing around with it for awhile and I think I'm getting it down. In the old days they used leaded leather and wooden wheels to polish so I'm trying to figure it out.

    Thanks, Man! It's really pretty nice. It's the one on top. The one on the bottom has a crack. I still think I may get a 7/8 out of it, shortening the blade a bit. A 'Mini 14'? I may have a set of scales when done (I hope!) if anyone needs some. These 14 scales are pretty big! Funny how cruddy brown the old bakelite is and how they come to slick black! Also, interesting how the twins in the scales are standing in different directions. You have been an inspiration here! A ways away, but here it is;

    That top one looks like it should clean up really nice Tom. And I like the idea of a 'Mini-14'. Mainly because this is such good steel! I normally would not waste my time making a 'shorty'...too many full size razors to be had out there...BUT a shorty Henckels 14, sounds like a winner to me.
