JA Henckels #14...
This is a beauty that I just finished for a good friend, with a 'minimalist' approach... . I kept it as close as I could to an original finish with minimal sanding done with very high grit, and then a progression of polishes ending with a leather wheel impregnated with lead. Fortunately although there was quite a bit of rust especially around the tang near the pivot and the dual jimps, there was minimal pitting.
The scales are original Bakelite, and were extremely discolored to what I can only describe as a green/tan baby poop color...Yuck! After a bit of work they restored beautifully.
And what an outstanding shaver! I love the #14 Henckels...reminds me of a Filarmonica, and I couldn't tell the difference between the two
Hope you like it!

Thanks Bob! I know you like the "14's"...this was easy to hone and really took a fantastic edge.
Thank you Dave...although honestly the scales were the worst part. The blade itself was really all there under the surface. I just tried to maintain and salvage an original finish.
Thanks my friend!

Nice work, Mike! I had 2 to work on. sadly one wound up having a crack in the blade. One shot left! Nice razor.

Thanked: 4828I brought one razor to work with me this last shift so for the last 21 that has been my blade. I cannot say enough good things about a Henckels and I do love my 14. You have done a fantastic job breathing life back into that blade. Someone else will have the great shaves I just enjoyed for the last 21 days. Congratulations to both of you!
