Thanked: 4206Thank you kindly gents. Appreciate the feedback.
Was a fun project to take on.
The grooves allow a closer finger stance on the blade, and I like the feel. Test shaved this AM with it and it's a great shaver. Good sculpting around the stache and side burn with the spike point.
I took a fair number of build shots along the way and posted it to my work in progress thread,
http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...b-fbu-179.html
Feel free to take a look and add your own challenging, or doglike projects in there as well.
The thread has grown quite long, but there are great tips from sharptonn, outback, and a cast of dozen other metal heads.
I like the potential of amber for the odd wedge, or maybe tang covers and inlay ideas.
Cheers.
edit: And a big shout out to Outback(Mike) for the awesome showpiece anvil. A good friend that makes nice work horses.Last edited by MikeB52; 10-15-2015 at 04:31 PM.

Really interesting scale work! It looks like the bend near the pivot would make it comfortable to hold while shaving...
