Razor with extreme curve
Sometimes, the reason for a design is just 'because I can'
I've seen those saito SK1 razors, and I decided to make a razor like that, but with the entire curve as a usable shaving edge. Tbh I don't think it is the most practical razor to hone and shave with, but sometimes you have to make something just to see if you can.
It has a bit of a reptile look so I chose pepper jade kirinite for the scales. I think the combination works well.

Nice Bruno, I see you have slight smile on that blade ............

But that one is cheating Firstly, you'll notice that the point on yours sways inwards (spine is longer than the edge) mine doesn't. And the bit of curve at the heel on yours (the bit
is that is most curved) isn't really used for shaving. Your razor is about an inch and a half of edge dressed up to look like a real razorTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

It isn't mine Bruno ( thank goodness! ) Too rich for my blood, and, from my experience, 'too much of a good thing.' The one you made is similar, if not the same smile, as one that Robert Williams made for me years ago.
Great shaver, and not too much smile to make honing difficult. I think yours looks great, but couldn't resist showing the radical Japanese blade that pops up once in awhile.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

For many a year I've said that I'd love to have a razor with a smile about the same curvature as the outside diameter of a dinner plate to use under my chin/upper neck area.
I think this one fits the bill! Nice work!
Was it indeed 'just because I can' or is it a special order? Just wondering
Again, nice work. :Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

That is impressive work on the grind! It seems like it would be a pain to strop and hone, but it makes a terrific display of your skill

Looks pretty useful to me! Pretty cool that you're able to grind that, seems a testament to your skill.

Thanked: 44I have an SK3, same as the one Jimmy posted and its a great shaver, but I think that one of yours has all the good points of the SK3 (closer in smile to the sk2 actually) but with a much more user friendly point on it. Nice job . What is the grind?
