    Hi Bruno,

Great work on the razor, sounds superb. I cheated and skipped a few pages to the end.

Is there another thread about your work on the kitchen knife you mentioned?

A scale-less blade I finished this afternoon. The finish is a repeated sanding and etching process that I am still needing to improve.
In the correct light, there are also white-ish structures snaking around the black carbides. It looks very nice and organic but doesn't capture at all sadly.

Very nice Bruno. I like more traditional looking blades, so this one really grabs my attention. Can't wait to see it completed, should be a stellar razor!

    That is a beauty Bruno!
Is it an optical illusion or is there a heel hook on it?

Another Arwen design razor in wootz, pictured on Ivory. Still a bit greasy all over but this is just a reference pic with different colors of mammoth tusk for the customer to choose from. I am getting there on my etching technique. Still a lot more work to clear out the unknowns in my process but at least now I know in which direction I need to go to get from start to finish

And this is the razor done, with ivory scales.
I just love wootz patterns. For one, they force me to be better at finish polishing because otherwise the patterns don't come out crisp. Mainly however, the more I look at them, the more they draw me in and make me feel like I am looking at a continuously changing maze.

In progress pics of a wootz razor that is going to wear mammoth tusk ivory.

this geometry is a bit different from my other designs. I wanted to make sure I got it right so in order to be really sure I first made a blade in carbon steel, and after grinding I added some cardboard scales and mailed it to the customer. That way he could be 100% sure that the result would be ok. He mailed it back and I used it as a template for the wootz razor.
