Thanked: 35Beautiful restoration! My latest Greaves is very similar to your blade and can been seen in Karl Johnson's posts a day or so ago. I love that you hand sanded this blade and it must have taken hours and hours. Terrific. May I ask how you set the bevel? Did you use any tape? How is the shave?
best,
jeff

Thank you very much! It's true, I didn't set any speed records restoring this one. Plus, it just sat in my half-done-to-do pile for too long. Now that it's finished I couldn't be happier with it. Yes, two layer of tape to hone. The shave is excellent, one of the best shavers I have honestly. The slight smile on it is just to my liking and the weight is very nicely balanced with the brass wedge. It was well worth the time and effort, very satisfying in many ways.

Thanked: 35Excellent job! Karl used two layers as well with that chunky profile of the geometry. I'll shave with it on Thursday and let you know. Cannot wait. Awesome job on yours!

Lovely as usual Tuzi! But I have to echo Magpie's comment about his arthritic fingers...I am amazed!

Thanked: 89The restoration is nothing short of spectacular, per usual. The horn that you found for this was well worth the wait I'd say--it's mesmerizing!
