I love the horn scales and the finish you did on the blade. What really intrigues me though are the hand made domed collars.
    Talk about attention to detail!
    Beautiful work!

Dang! That turned-up a treat, Tuzi!

So anyone have any history on Instanter? I never saw one before!

Thanks!! I would also love to hear about history on Instanter. There are a couple threads with a few different ones pictured but I've not found specific info about the maker yet.

Superb work Tuz, never found anything about Instanter other then its a common word mostly in England meaning at once, immediately, and a town in Pennsylvania.

Thanks! Yeah there's not much info but the way "instanter" was used like an adverb like "immediately" is interesting. For example from the London and Paris Observer 1833, "The person who kills a hog, is entitled to cut off, instanter, and carry away the head; but half an hour is allowed for the owner to claim the body..."

And the town of Instanter in Pennsylvania is interesting as well. It seems Instanter was a logging community on the Clarion River, lost under water in 1950 when the east branch of the river was dammed up. But, in drought conditions or when draining the dam for repairs the community is revealed and former residents would gather for reunions there.

Thanks, yes the collars are made from brass tubing hammered into domes in a jig. If anyone is interested, there are pictures and descriptions of what I use to make them in post #15 in this thread http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...-progress.html

Lovely as usual Tuzi! But I have to echo Magpie's comment about his arthritic fingers...I am amazed!
