Thanked: 13249Henckels Newer 7/8 & 8/8 Friodur - Rescales
Going on a trip in the "Way Back Machine"
There was a time where replacing the unmatched misfit plastic Chinese scales on these was a weekly occurrence
3rd Generation Henckels Friodur 7/8 size
Scales are Cocobolo @ at sweet .105" thick
Wedge is Amber Recon Stone @.065" at the end
Pins and Washers are Solid Brass
Used a Hand Rubbed Teak Oil Finish followed by Ren Wax
Oooooooo look at the Center Pin post closely

Thanked: 4830I have not seen one with a scalloped spine for some time. The scales look great. Is that a brass bead of some sort that you used for the spacer on the middle pin?

Impeccable job as usual Glen.
There's just something about cocobolo wood that does it for me. I love the stuff! I'm sure that Roy will be thrilled with the results. The razor, with its scalloped spine, is a beautiful blast from the past!
Now...the Wayback machine : Which one of you guys is Sherman and which one is Mr. Peabody??

Thanked: 4249Nice work guys, seems like nobody likes the original scales on the Friodur, surprising that I don't see the inlay transferred from the original scales.
