    Cool DD Grim Reaper Rebuild

    Thuya Burl CA finish with .030" G10 liners overall thickness 110"
    So much work goes into these full re-builds

    Did you make these end cap accents (unsure of the correct word, bolsters?) or did you manage to save them?

    It is a process that Dan aka Floppyshoes (One of yer countrymen) and I came up with many years back, if you search Reaper restores and our two S/N's you will find an old thread about how we did them orginally..

    I also show how to remove the inlays on my YouTube channel

    Little has changed in the process, I would like to think I have improved on the execution hehehe

    To answer your direct question, the old scales are torn down and I rebuild from scratch

    here is a couple of pics from this teardown

    Pro Tip:

    See that stupid baord with the two pins in the second pic ??? that dumb jig REALLY helpes during the rebuild to line up the inlay and bolster transfers

    Ahhh alright, and i'l have to look into the video's. I would love to make some fancy bolsters like this, but wouldn't know how. Or where to start.

    There was a guy years back that was making Bolsters and selling them on ebay

    I am pretty sure he was using some type of CAD program and cutting the thin Brass sheets, honestly I am not that computer savvy to know how
