That's a beautiful razor and an awesome restoration.
    I love that grind.
Looks better than new, I'm sure.

Nicely done. Is there a finish on the wood? Ebony is oily and should hold up to water on its own I think. Maybe just some good wax.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement, fellas!

@Karl, that's right, there is no finish on the ebony. I figured it was plenty oily enough on it's own and it just has a nice natural feel that way too. I just sanded to a high grit then I rubbed it with a scrap of linen fire hose to sort of polish it.

Another amazing transformation! I was expecting to see your signature satin finish, but the full mirror probably works better with this particular style of grind. Just superb and perfect scales to boot.

Thank you! Yes, I was considering a satin finish, and it would actually work quiet well with this blade because the line between blade face and spine is so well defined by the "rattler" style grind. But I like a mirror finish too, so I decided to go with that. The nice thing is that the mirror finish is the last step before applying the satin finish, so if I change my mind and want to go satin it could still be done relatively easily. It would look like this Northfield rattler I did here http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...storation.html
    Thanks for the kind words!
