Thanked: 4206Roberts Warranted weekend travel kit
Finished making a weekend strop and case combo for a pair of Roberts Warranted razors for a fellow member. Posted a lot of this in the workshop as it progressed, but here it is complete.
Made out of walnut with a balsa inner lid coated in .25 micron diamond spray.
Overall finished dimensions 2”wide by 14” stropping surface by 1.5” thick.
Leather is Latigo and could be replaced by removing the s.s. hardware.
To summarize the process, solid walnut milled out to cradle the razors as well as make the end radius for the strop, and the tensioning handle.
Pockets made deeper at the wedge end to allow for easy removal of blades.
Brass used inside 5/16” threaded rod pocket to ensure long life and no binding while tightening. s.s. hardware throughout.
French polish finish.
And green felt used inside the pockets to protect the scales in transit.
WT is the brand my daughter came up with for me as she thinks her dad’s a bit of a mad wizard.
Hopefully the razors fit well and the owner shall update this thread with pictures of the real deal once received.
Thanks for looking.

Great job. That turned out wonderfully. The only thing that comes to mind, that might make it a little better would be a custom bag to slip it into. So the leather is safer from marks while being bounced around in the luggage. I want one!
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 35This is mine! I contacted Mike after seeing his earlier strop case. I have two Roberts Warranted, restored stunningly by Karl Johnson. I travel a bit, and thought I could pair these in a cool all in one case. Mike asked me to color copy, to scale, the blades and take a few measurements of the thickness of the blades. He mocked them up as you see, and his artistry took over. Cannot wait to receive this! Thank you Mike.

Oldies for travel-razors. THAT is hard-core.
We DO have .25 diamond paste? Do we not?
Lucky guy! Enjoy!
