    I hate that more than ever. Spend a bunch of time doing a write up with all the pics, only to bump the wrong key, and gone to cyberspace..... WTF.!!! AAAAAAH..!!!

    As for making wedges, by hand is my favored choice.

    To keep things perfectly flat and even, I use a large file, clamped to the table, and a jig for holding the wedge, while I tapper it.

    The Platen head with adjustable table means I can get my wedges done a lot faster.. Still requires a hand finish.

    Ooooh that's a machine that I'd love to have!

    While I have by necessity done most things without power equipment, the right power tool can make things go much quicker, allowing expansion of ideas that get bogged down otherwise.
    Its nice to at least rough it out, and then get it perfect by hand.
    Thanks for your run through on your process, it helps to add these insights and techniques.
    Outback, I like that jig. , I had one similar, and wanted to make a set of given angles and pin settings/positions.
