That is a great idea But pending for now.

I removed the scales for the first time and suddenly the razor is significantly more manageable! The scales are just as heavy as the blade

I'm talking to Max about potentially resizing the blade and adding new scales so depending on how much it costs, I might keep it. I shall keep you all posted, thank you for all the help!

Now that you have the scales off may I suggest that you take 2 Popsicle sticks, put one on each side of the tang and wrap them with tape.
Then try to shave with it. You might be surprised.

Haha anything at this point would be an improvement over the original scales.

Id go for changing the scales option. The weight of the stag horn and steel would drastically alter the feel of the shave.
With the blade being a smiler your in luck, in my opinion the smile makes larger razors more nimble.

This is a great idea as youd get an idea of shaving with a razor without needing arms like Sylvester Stallone.

Shortening it is not an issue, but the scales will look odd if they are too long. So you have to shorten them too.
    Making it more narrow...
Unless you have experience making razors and grinding hollows, you shouldn't do that. You will ruin it. You can have someone else do that. But it would be a pity to change that razor so much.

It definitely wouldn't be me modifying the razor haha.

At this point my option is to shorten and rescale or just sell as is. I'm leaning towards selling it even though it feels better with no scales as I'd still be happier with an overall smaller blade.

    JMO.
Sell it and buy something you like with the money. I think I can safely say we all have done this.
Trading is an option as well. Post it in the WTT and see?

Good ideas sharpton. I'll reattach the scales and list it shortly. No idea how much this would possibly go for but I guess I'll find out haha.
