Thanked: 60I think that story may be urban myth. I first saw it on B&B 10 years ago buy a poster that said he heard it from a shop owner in California. I have seen Benz DE's, 7 day sets and pocket knives. I think there was a Solingen cutler A. Benz and then there was Machenbach & Benz. It would be nice to see some confirmation since Karl Benz died in 1929 and was always an locomotive engineer and never lived in Solingen that I am aware of.
