Thanked: 10Packwood Restoration
Just started this. So far 80 grit greaseless. I'll take the bolster/deco off the old scales
The razor has a bow in it.

Thanked: 10Rez, yeah you bet. Just cut out the scales on the bandsaw. Gonna smoke a bowl and read and then shut it down for tonight. Catch you tomorrow.

Thanked: 556That razor gives you a bow and a smile. Should be some interesting honing, but it looks like a very good find.

Thanked: 10JP, who knew? lol
I could just cry. New scales made, blade going to the 220 then 320 greasless. I cut the old (show) scale down so I just had the small brass decal on a tiny piece of the old scale. Decal and bit of scale were soaking in some Acetone, the bolster/decal came off perfectly but I slipped while lifting it up and it went flying. I heard a very small ting sound and it was gone. I did not manage to catch a glimpse of it as it flew away to get a general direction for my SAR attempt. Despite moving, everything on my immediate workbench, using a bright LED flashlight I have been unable to find it. It vanished into that nasty and horrible place we all have: that space beneath our workbench and the concrete floor. My last resort was to meticulously vacuum everything with my shop vac. I am going to spread newspaper on the garage floor and then dump my floor vac in the narrow hope that maybe, just maybe, it will show up.
That tiny piece of filament brass is so small.
Arghhh!

Thanked: 556I feel for you. Very frustrating.
On the bright side, maybe you’ll find some of those missing socks we’ve all tried to locate.David
