Just a quick follow-up: it's like a law of physics that every spike point I shave with will cut me, so of course this one did, just as I was oohing and aahing over the smoothness of the 8k to Arkie edge I had just put on it with that 14-inch black hone I got this summer from Dan's. Seriously, it was one of the smoothest shaves I've had in awhile until "D'oh!"-it happened! Teach me to gloat, even to myself. Anyway, it must not have been too bad; alum stopped it up pretty good after the 1st pint or so.

So I'll just mute that point a bit, and it should be one of my top shavers. Seriously, I rarely like hollow-ground edges, but this one is special.
