I'm lucky enough that all my life my work has involved grinding, first ever job was roll turning for a hot steel mill and we were grinding carbide lathe tools almost every day. Then when I moved to the states I worked as a sharpener/polisher for a dental instrument maker. So when I started making my own razors I already had a lot of experience and it wasn't a huge learning curve, well for the most part. The difficulty is if you want to grind something like a full hollow, it's very difficult without to do so on a single wheel grinder. I'm actually in the process of building a precision screw adjustable blade guide so I will eventually be able to make really accurate full hollow grinds. I have done them just on the tool rest guiding with my fingers but when you put the blade in the light you can see in the belly area where the grinds are not totally uniform by the distortion in the reflection. I'm making more knives these days as they are more popular but I'm still doing a few razors a month, all old Sheffield style, wedge type blades with traditional scale materials. I've watched a lot of your videos, I really enjoyed the 7 day set restoration, you obviously have the patience and attention to detail that if you ever decided to make razors I'm sure you would do very well indeed.

It sounds like you have a lot of abrasive experience . I am learning from a blank slate , my polishing knowledge has recently had a bump and im starting to understand things on a different level..
