Around these parts That plant is a Christmas cactus.

There are three main commercial products in the holiday cactus genus, Thanksgiving cactus (Schlumbergera truncata), Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera bridgesii) and Easter cactus (Schlumbergera russelliana, formerly known as Hatiora gaertneri...although not everyone agrees but whatever. Thanksgiving cactus blooms earlier and is often referred to as Christmas cactus because they make it to market for the holidays first. They have pointy extensions on the leaf ends. Christmas cactus has more rounded extensions on the leaf ends. Easter cactus doesn't really have extensions...oh, and they bloom in spring, usually March depending on location.

Yea I thought the same. would look dramatic when flowering. That particular plant is actually 4 different color flowering plants in one large pot. will shoot you a pic in PMs if you want so is not to go off topic too much.
