How you mean that? Do you had seen other colored bone scales?
I think the main reason, why the work with bone is a little tricky is, that I dont found a source for bone plates. The greatest problem is to cut the flat pieces out of the bones. Because of the heat it stinks horrible. Also the work with the belt sander, to made them really flat, cost a lot of time and dust.
After that, the working with it, is not very different do an exotic hardwood. When you sand the scales with water from hand, you can do this in the house without smelling problems.

Those scales look great. I like the silver colored wedge. The shape and finish of the scales looks flawless.
