    Make sure you oil them and wrap them in wax paper before you get them to a honer.

    As an aside, one of my Uncles was quite a handyman, and whenever he was taking something apart or putting it back together, he claimed there was always one stubborn screw or bolt that just didn't want to come out or go back in properly - he called it "the aggravator." Mondays are usually excellent aggravators, as days of the week go, and your experience with this set seems to be validation of that.

    I would like to say these are even nicer in person, Matthew sent them over for honing, and seeing this set in person really shows what a great job he did on them... The blue spacers really are a beautiful color....
