    My only concern with using Paua was that it would be flaky...........so, I'm curious about this as well.....

    I don't always like the scalloping in the scales that you've crafted -- it is certainly a signature design feature of yours. However, I have to agree with everyone else that this design is dead on. The scale material and shape really work with the blade's shape and polish.
