GORGEOUS Paua Scales...
Well here is a member's B&B Le Grelot Limited Edition razor. He hated the Pink Ivory scales for several reasons and I don't blame him! They were really poorly done- all warped and uneven. Poorly pinned too. They actually cracked when I removed them from the stress of being pinned basically diagonally. Anyway...
He wanted Paua scales and I wanted to do 'em! Pictures speak for themselves. Tapered Carbon Fiber spacer. My design choice. This thing is gorgeous in person! I added some pics to try to show the amazing color. You really need to see it up close to see the subtle shell patterning and all. As always, comments and constructive criticism are welcome! Enjoy!

One of the best scales on a straight razor that I've ever seen. They are stunning!

Woah........I'm stunned! Alex.......better than I could have imagined and all of your choices were spot on My Man.
The perfect mirroring of the blade end with the end of the scales and the ideal scalloping is all just phenomenal and yes, the material is un-freakin'-real!
I'm also very happy you went with CF for the spacer since CF was one of my first choices for the re-scale. That should be just the right amount to also satisfy my CF jones......for *now*.
I'm fortunate to have mentioned a material choice that would bring you out of your temporary (?) retirement and also, I appreciated your asking for my input on the design of the scales, but I absolutely made the right choice in leaving the design in your hands.
What a gloriously balanced looking razor you've crafted!
You NAILED it!
I was/am extremely privileged that you took this job on and I am seriously looking forward to getting that razor in my hands.
Excellent work!
Thank you!!
Stu
...............
That was one hell of a good tip Isaac.......paid off beautifully!
Thank you as well!

Fantastic work Alex,,,,he was very lucky to be able to have you do the work for him! I'm sure he will love it even more when the razor reaches his hands.
