    Default reground 2 razor set

Hey guys. I have finally gotten out from under the razors that I have been behind on while trying to care for you ailing grandma and keep my job. That is as a direct result of my grandma finishing her chemo and radiation for a while and my working in financial services and therefore losing my job anyways. Gotta love it. SO... as of the middle of last week I have had some time on my hands for the first time in 6 months. YEA!!!

What did I do with that time you might ask? Ship 3 newby kits and 2 razors plus refine my regrinding to do this...

    Very nice polishing.
Should have taped the spine when honing though.

I don't like how a razor feels when it has been honed with tape. Believe it or not I feel a deference. When I go to sell it I will repolish the spine so that it has no scratches there and you will never know the difference unless you remove lots of material.

That's two Chris' that don't like tape. I do tape an very thin strip on the top of the blade running from the shoulder to the tip of the toe to keep the top of the blade from getting scratched when I flip the razor on the hone.

Interesting idea. I usually use tape to set the bevel and sometimes if the razor is rare I will tape the spine. On this one I just wanted to see how this old beast shaved and I will buff it out later. The finish is so fine that the slurry and grit on the hone can damage the finish and the tape leaves marks behind.

What did you use to get such a beautiful mirror finish. I KNOW that the level of finish that blade shows must have taken a ton of work. And alot of it by HAND. Great job.

As far as the tape goes, I never used to tape the spine-but now with the Shapton glass hones. I really like the electrical tape trick.
