Sheffanese and Curly Q
Here are my first two forged razors that made it to completion. The wedge on a stick is made from a spring from the scrap yard and curly q is made from a section of drill rod, (I do not remember what kind of drill rod I ordered. I bought it from MSC and it is color coded yellow on the end, if yu know the color code that MSC uses I would like to know what kind of steel it is.
It is my idea of a cross between a Sheffield wedge and a Japanese style razor. It is about a 7/8's.
The wedge is wrapped with rattan the curly q's scales are made of juniper.

Thanked: 8I really like both of them, I just am wondering how the balance is on the first one, how do you hold the second, when are you taking orders?

I really like the blade itself on the first one. I don't know how practical a shaver it is with that huge tang, but the blade itself is gorgeous.

Your work is amazing !!!
to have the skill, ability and tools to make such works must be a great feeling of satisfaction.
They are both stunning pieces

Love your style Charlie. Great work.
These would fit perfectly in the 'Rustiques' club. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

The blade is heavier than the tang; the problem with it is that the tang is too thin to hold comfortably. I need to make more of a built up handle of sorts. I hold the second one like a regular razor my pinky rides on top of the curl. I am not taking orders I am still learning and having fun it is a great way to pass the time
It shaves pretty well.
Neither one of these razors is the picture of practicality, but it was fun to try out some different ideas. You never know until try it out.
