not sure how I missed this one ...

    Killer work !

The blade came out beautifully and the scales are stunning.

    Great pinning, nice and tight.

But what sticks out to me on this beauty is the wedge !

Burl,Brass,Burl,Brass,Burl - now thats some serious and tedious work getting that to line up as sweet as it did .... Bravo !

I have 2 questions, What is the thickness of the brass, I bought .032 and it seems way to thick.

Are the inside of the scales lined with brass, if so did you also use epoxy ?

I want to attemp to try what you have already done, I bought epoxy called PC7 today, I want to epoxy the brass to the inside of the scales before I do my final shaping. I may not end up with such an intrakiit wedge as you , I think Im just going with a single piece of wood sandwiched between my brass lined scales.

Have you ever made scales before? If not, don't bother with the brass for your first set. You will thank me later. I have never heard of that PC7 stuff. And the brass you bought is too thick. I have used .16 and .10. Yes the entire scales are lined.

Also, I am not taking orders at this time due to long lead times for scales and restorations. Give me a few months when my little one is letting my wife and I sleep some more.

Simply amazing work...Producing something like this is the eventual goal for my restoration journey. Quick question, are butt pins needed if the wedge is epoxy(d) in place? Love the look and would do the exact same thing, just curious from the structural and functional standpoint.

Thanks for the compliments. In the case of this razor. It is all epoxied together, so in theory I did not need the pins.

Great, thanks for the quick response (epoxy(d)... I feel ashamed for typing that, haha just one of those mornings where the brain hadn't quite reached full capacity yet )
