Thanked: 735Well, truth be told, I do have some other tools besides just a dremel, but that is my main tool for modification.
This thread was the moment of epiphany for me.
Thanks Big Bubba!

Thanked: 735Yeah, I came *this* close to buying one of those new LeGrelots (I already have one of the older 1/4 grinds), so I decided to try and install my own thumbnotch, as I feel a thumbnotch is one of the finer elements of a great razor.
Now I no longer look for razors that look like what I want, I look for razors that look like they can become what I want. DAs, vintage blades, whatever.

Thanked: 735Lost my temper!
OK, I was a little suspicious when I first recieved the razor, as it had looked as if someone had taken the dremel sander to most of the blade.....
Well, after doing my rework, I went to put an edge on this bad boy, and all efforts were rebuffed! It would appear that the blade has lost its' temper or something, as it just will not get an edge.
I imagine that the guy who gave it the sanding treatment overheated the blade, and now it's no better than a Zeepk. I've done my rework on 6-7 razors so far, with no ill effects (I'm quite careful about keeping everything wet and cool during my process)
What a shame I was looking forward to another Sheffield wedge in my stable.
