You have been really on top of your game lately. First the puma, and now this. I'm blown away.

You're killing me Max. The DD Special #1 is and will always be my first srt8, so I've got a soft spot for it.
Dear me... That's awfully nice!

All I can say is WOW! The before pics do not do this thing justice! Max brought one back that looked as if someone, not I mind you, had chewed on the scales. I picked this up for next to nothing at a Flea Market with the idea that no DD should go out like that. Never did I think it would end up looking like this!
Thanks again Max, the time you spent on the phone discussing options was both informative and helpful.

Been after a Duck for a while, but always passed over the No1's as they were a bit plain. Now i'm converted! That's so bloody classy!

Thanked: 2Max I'm definitely not doubting you. But could you or anyone else help me understand why you didn't think the blade would turn out that nice. Did you think that it was permanently stained? From the before picture it doesn't look extremely pitted or rusted or anything.....
I guess this is just ignorance talking cuz I don't get it.

For starters the blade had lots of hone wear and the picture actually makes it even look better as it really was. Scratches and blemishes went really deep especially the back side which is not featured. Another problem was the edge which badly curved towards the heel side and doesn't really show all that well in the pic. The scales from close looked like a dog had spend a 15 minutes playing time with them. So basically it looked really worse than the pic shows. But I managed to resurrect the Duck. Didn't want it to turn into a Chinese roast duck.

Nice resurrection there Max. No more lame duck.
So you reground the heel ? Hard to see on the pics. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
