Wade & Butcher - 'For Barbers Use' - Bird's eye maple
A meaty 8/8 Wade & Butcher. Woohoo. All I can say this razor rocks big time.
The blade itself had patina so I did spend a while trying to remove it on the wheels with the black, stainless steel, white and finally green rouges.
Big, small, wedge, full hollow blade,... it doesn't matter. They all get extremely hot when polishing and buffing so lots of cooling and waiting in between sessions. The result of this one is immaculate.
As to the scales I was asked to use bird's eye maple with a stain treatment and to replicate the same original sized scales.
Bird's eye maple got dyed with dark walnut, sanded, stained with golden amber, sanded, coated with dewaxed shellac, sanded and as requested finalized with plentiful layers of poly.
Stainless steel, brass pins and washers.
Blade took an incredible nice edge and has already left back home.
Again a big THANKS to 'Floppyshoes' for being giving me some helpful pointers.

Excellent work there Max ! Really got the grain poppin' man.
What can I say about the razorThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
