One of those Friodurs...
I just hate working with these NOS friodur blades. There are so many things about them that make them a PITA to rescale, it's almost never worth it to me. Hopefully this is the last one I'll ever touch! Scales are carbon fiber, but for some reason they never come out as black in the pics as they look in real life. Much more 3D looking and shiny, etc. Wedge is burgundy micarta, but doesn't have much red for contrast. It looks more black. Nice in person though. This one is already spoken for. Enjoy!

That's a very nice-looking set of scales. They may be difficult to re-scale, but they're really good razors. Hold an edge for a long time, smooth shaving, and really sharp. The cheap plastic scales mine came with were warped and I had them replaced by Floppyshoes ASAP. It's a favourite now.

That's some phenomenal pinning work! Very skilled, & far beyond what i imagine i'll ever achieve.

Not my favorite blades to restored either. The tangs are not tapered in any kind of significant way so you either have to:
1. Have thin scales and a pronounced wedge to bend around the tang
2. Carve out a niche for the tang
3. Modify the tang (Grind)
4. Design the scales to go around the tang
Looks like alex went with #4 in this case, but my heart goes out to anyone brave/confident/stupid enough to want to rescale one of these things.

Thanked: 151As usual that is outstanding work. Based on the comments those must be very difficult blades to deal with. Is the carbon fiber abel to be cut with a band saw? The only reason I ask is because the look you achieve with it is very sleek.
Great Work!
