    Yes, thanks everybody.

P.s. I finally found that old thread that inspired my Gold Bug acquisition:

EDIT: Speaking of 100th monkey.... Look at my avatar.

Reminds me of another monkey expression:

This theorem seems very applicable to straight shaving:

An infinite number of noobs will eventually yield one that will get a decent shave on their first try.

The gold bug secret is now out of the bag. Too bab.
    Luckily I own a few.

I think it should be a general rule that all admins, mods and mentors should keep to themselves about their favorite brands. Not that newbies shouldn't be allowed to use them, just that I don't like paying twice or thrice the price on ebay for something that just last week would have gone for no more than any other razor.

For the record, I didn't pay twice or thrice anything for this one (two months ago). Obviously, I paid for Max's services because I "learned" back then that these were nice razors. I've never used one.

This should be about helping new guys and spreading information about SR shaving, not about setting up a secret club for "mods and mentors" to have all the good stuff!

Maybe you could sell one or to of your Bugs, Dan, and turn a nice profit!

Kidding aside, there are so many great vintage razors out there. We all I'm sure have some that fly under the radar which we think "Man, this razor [fill in the blank] is a top shaver!!

For that reason, I don't have a problem with the DDs, etc going for top, top, top dollar. The "well known" brands to me are like chum. They distract those that are after the chum from trying to devour other great razors.

I agree.. and I know Dan was kidding.

I have a Robert Klaas that is still my favorite shaver... that's ahead of the DD's, W&B's, Henckels, etc.

Though, that might change after I get these two (plus the Filarmonica Max also honed for me).

Keep us updated Ogie as pics don NOT do them any justice. You'll see what i mean when you are going and tear the package into shreds to get hold of your treasure.
