Default W&B Frameback in Black Linen and Purpleheart

I did this for one of the guys here in town. The blade was pretty rough with a lot of rusting and pitting. The original horn scales were badly beaten up and were starting to split really badly.

The pitting was really bad around the mark on the tang, so after some consultation, it was decided to leave the pitting on the sides of the tang and remove everything else. I like the way it turned out. A little old, a little new.

The scales are the original shape with new materials. Matte finish on the black linen micarta, to get a little bit different from the shiny black scales that are on a lot of razors. Used a purpleheart wedge for accent.

I have not been overly impressed with the shaves I have received from W&Bs in the past, but this one was awesome.

Beautiful work! Love the shoulderless grind on that blade, too...

    Nice job resurrecting the blade!

I think you chose wisely on the scales. They look great, and the purple contrast works well for the wedge. Nice work!

Wow,you really brought that one back. I went through a serious Wade & Butcher period and still love em. What a great shaver that must be.

This is also the way I prefer mostly. It shows the age of the blade and also the skill of the restorer.
Very nice work you did here.
