Something to behold
Well, OK. Now I am really bowled over. This is one of the most beautiful works of art I have seen in a while. There is no detail that has not been paid attention to. The Amboyna burl is finished to perfection. The stacked pins are perfect. The wedge is even more beautiful than the pictures. The wedge is perfectly finished so that it looks like an integral part of the scales. AMAZING!!!
Finally, the blade came back with a hone that is great too. I thought this blade was sharp before. It is killer now.
I am going to have to use it on a Friday night which is totally against my shaving religion. Can't wait to feel the balance watch this beauty in the mirror while I shave!

Thanked: 25...;
Beautiful. This is the first time I've stepped on to this forum. What did you use for the liner of the Burl?
Was that necessary or could you get away with a thicker slab of burl?

Liner was necessary because I used unstabilized burl. Even at a bit thicker it is very fragile.

Thanked: 326Exquisite! Love the scale and nice touch on the wedge! Everything marries well together. Albeit pictures don't do this masterpiece justice.
I've never done any custom work so pardon the ignorance, did you pin the bottom scale overnight after gluing with bench vise?
Awesome work
Thanks,
Ivan
