Thanked: 13245A very, very, Special razor & brush restore for Me !!!!!!
So I have to tell the whole story of the set..
Back in June for my 50th birthday my Mother in Law found me a vintage razor set that she bought for me...
It included a solid brass brush handle loaded very densely with a boars hair knot...Naturally the boars hair was starting to come out but really what do you expect it was probably 50 years old... Included along was a re-scaled razor in some very beautiful "Owl" decorated scales... The razor was not original to the scales and did not fit them, so I sat on this set for 5 months waiting for the right things to come together...
Well I finally did my first brush restore on an "Old Spice" brush about 2 months ago, I loved the handle hated the boars hair... I ordered a new Silvertip knot from the Golden Nib which Tony over there got right out to me... I drilled it out and glued in the new knot and have loved that brush ever since...Now last night my 20 mm over stuffed Silvertip knot arrived from Tony so it went into this brass handle.... So now I have a nice little brush...
So then I waited for just the right razor to put in these scales... Finally I snapped up the most special razor I have ever seen and I have been waiting for two weeks for it to arrive from Argentina....
This is a 5/8 spike point NOS Mercurio #16 out of Solingen it slid right into the Owl scales....
Now some of you who know me or have visited my website my know why this rather plain ole' razor is so special to me
Believe it or not that is my last name stamped on there
I am going to hone this up and shave with it once, but I am thinking this will go in a small display case of it's own...Last edited by gssixgun; 11-03-2009 at 09:59 PM.

Love the brush Glen! Great find on the razor also. Very special find. Holli pointed me to one on EBay with my family name stamped in it also and it's now part of the stable.
Enjoy your shaves with this special set!“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)
