    Yeah, I was wondering that as well, but it's one of my favorite parts of the razor. Maybe the horn material was shorter . That said, Max has done some razors with shorter wedges, though maybe not this short. The design was all his. I just sent some options for materials. I love the way it turned out. Just heard that it arrived at my home today. Looking forward to picking it up in a month.

    It's purely a personal design and balance act. The blade isn't the heaviest I've encountered either so it needed a perfectly balanced scale set to counter the heavier weight of horn.
