    Thank you gentlemen, I appreciate your comments!

    Edit: I simply glued the ends together, the scales are very tightly fitting. They do not catch the blade as they are fairly well centered. I have been thinking about some kind of a staple, but I have been unable to execute on that idea so far... maybe in another six months!

    As long as the blade stays safe, I'd say leave it as is. It will be interesting to see how the glue alone holds up over time. You can always go in and fix it when/if the glue gives out.

    Exactly. This is not my daily workhorse despite its good shaving qualities. I can afford making it a little more unusual and fragile.

    Btw. in one of its earlier versions, there was a glued cork wedge and blade stopper there, and the cork held very strong. I had to cut it in half and sand it off the scales, it would not peel off.
