    Thumbs up

I don't think anyone works the wood scales like Glen.

What a pair and the wood is as gorgeous as the the perfect pinning!

I hadn't peeked in on these until now, but I'm sure glad I did. They look great!

I think it's very neat how you got the faces to look so smooth and even. My first attempt to use wenge for scales was "less than successful" but you've given me incentive to try it again soon. Thanks!

The trick is what is called a "wash coat", sanding sealer thinned with mineral spirits,
I don't even actually mix them, I do a wipe down with mineral spirits, then using the same wet spot on the rag I immediately wipe it down with the diluted sanding sealer, this gets very deep into the grain... Then do a regular coat of sanding sealer after that dries, works great on open grain woods......
I actually adapted the idea from talking with Dan/floppyshoes about it, he is a wood finish genius

    Dang.
    What beautiful razors.
    Me like very much.
Great job, I'm hoping to send some of my rapidly growing stable of razors out to someone with the skills like that.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

More beautiful work from Gemstar Customs! I still absolutely love the razor Glen did for me. Both great workmanship and outstanding customer service.

Wenge is such a beautiful wood. I have a guitar neck made out of it but intentionally left it unfinished. I'm partial to the feel of a raw wood guitar neck (as are most guitarists who play one for any extended period).
