First I got some screws and nuts to test fit, then I took a razor blade and on the inside of the scales at the pivot where the washer sits, i cut into it so the washer would site slightly like this \ instead of |
Very subtle change made a big difference.

For some reason, I couldn't see the photos last night, but I'm sure grooving on them now - Wow! Beautiful, beautiful work!

I wouldn't have thought to do the tuxedo wedge with the burl but WOW does that look good! Excellent job.

Sweet piece o' work Aquanin - and you're right, the Thuya burl does look to have a ton of depth - gorgous looking wood and finish.
