That's very awesome I'd buy one if you offered them for sale and I had the cash at the time. I personally prefer a thin piece welded across the edge for a consistent material hardness across that edge.

The razor is beautiful, I really like the lines and dimensions. Great workmanship and design.
I once made a razor with a ball on the end of the tang like that, I spent hours filing and making it perfectly round ball only to discover I could not find an elegant way to get the tang to pass through the scales. I ended up turning the ball into a disk so that it would pass through. It was a frustrating experience for me. I am anxious to see how you solve the problem.

beautiful work.
very striking!!
you guys are really making me feel good about my future with blades haha.i'm not sure i follow the hardended edge bit..the entire blade area is hardened and tempered. you can actually see in person the etch changes slightly from where it was heat treated. do you mean like how japanese razors have a lower carbon steel for the handle and high carbon for the edge?
some will have a solid line of steel for the edge so you do not run into a problem with microchips forming around the welded areas which would make it hard to hone properly
