If you made a smaller symbol it would look a lot better and cleaner IMO.

I was also thinking that something like a sunburst style orange, like they do on Les Paul guitars, would look great with a small ivory longhorn in the center of the sunburst(where it's lighter)

    I like the sunburst idea.
Tim is putting together a couple of designs for me and I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
    thanks for the suggestions

Being that I'm an Austinite myself and a university of Texas alumni, I thought it might be cool to design some custom scales to create a texas razor. I attached a picture I created along the lines of what I was thinking. Orange Osage scales with a faux ivory inlay of longhorns. I guess my question is would it be possible to make custom scales like that? If not, would you have any suggestions for changes to make something similar.
Thanks so much for your thoughts. I know you all are busy restoring razors and creating cool custom designs but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice...... I'm here in Austin too! Where did you find that ATX Shumate? I've been looking for one for two years now to no avail
Make sure we all see photos of your finished razor!

Here is the finished product just received from Tim (oldblades).
It looks great and shows off Tim's amazing inlay work.
    Thanks Tim

Great work! See it in your mind, decide to pursue it and one of the master craftsmen here will make it a reality. Enjoy!

    Default Great job

Looks great and really captures the original idea and Texas as a whole. Would have been cool to see in it longhorn horn scales though... Maybe for the next one! Thanks for posting pictures, shows those of us that lack such beauties how much further we still have to go.
