    Default Question regarding custom design

    Hello Everyone,
I'm a big fan of all the amazing restoration work and custom scales posted here, so I thought I would ask everyone's opinion. I recently purchased a Vintage Austin, TX Shumate and wanted to get it cleaned up and rescaled. Being that I'm an Austinite myself and a university of Texas alumni, I thought it might be cool to design some custom scales to create a texas razor. I attached a picture I created along the lines of what I was thinking. Orange Osage scales with a faux ivory inlay of longhorns. I guess my question is would it be possible to make custom scales like that? If not, would you have any suggestions for changes to make something similar.
Thanks so much for your thoughts. I know you all are busy restoring razors and creating cool custom designs but any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Dan

It most definitely can be done. I would direct you to speak to Oldblades via PM. Tim does great work with wood and his work can be very special. GL

Branding is a great idea. That could look really cool on the orange wood.
Maybe I'll put together a set.
    Thanks for the suggestion

I'd take shutterbug up on that offer if I where you. He dose amazing work.
Altho I,m not you and you would probably get your A@# kicked by your friends for doing it. Even so for a set of custom scales from him it may still be worth it.

    That's hilarious John.
That would be a long and hard weekend for me and one that I might never be able to live down among my friends. We got the last two years but I guess we'll see come October.
Thanks for the offer though. I'll say hi to Colt for you
