Invicta & Old Forge
Been a while since I posted any work.
I rarely take before shots & lately seem to be neglecting taking 'after' shots Anywho here's a couple I did take pics of.
The Old Forge was only an edge restore & minor scale repair. Pretty well worn right down to the flange & had to regrind the heel to make it hone-able. One scale was broken at the tip so I shaped both sides down to a T.I. style taper
The Invicta was a full restore to original including scales & I refreshed the gold lettering as well.
Both turned out to be good shavers. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 1072Its about time you showed us some more of your work.
Both very nice too! Nice save on the Old Forge. I like the finish on the Invicta blade, well done, as you know I'm a big fan of the Invictas. Should be a sweet shave for its lucky owner."I aint like that no more...my wife, she cured me of drinking and wickedness"

Yup the Invicta's are a nice shave Baldy. Wonder how durable the edges are say compared to a Bengall. Maybe you can let us know how long between touchups on yours ?

Thanked: 1072Its hard to give you a definative answer, given that I've only been doing this about a year and a half now and that I now have around 13 or so razors in rotation, I haven't had to do too many touch ups. So I'll have to go with my gut and say that I think they are at least as good as a bengall when your talking about the edge lasting. The one in the link http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...ic-scales.html was my first shave ready razor (you honed it for me if you remember) and its only been touched up once.
